Application Engineer

Key Role and Responsibilities

•    Support the direct sales force in engaging with partners and clients in the CPG & Healthcare sectors.
•    Serve as the technical backbone of the sales organization, working on complex bids and tenders, responding to user requirement specifications (URS), and designing solutions for the client base.
•    Lead the applications equipment/technical solution design working closely with the design team in Europe, & US based sales team
•    Train national sales staff and employees on the X-Ray and Checkweigher portfolio and applications.
•    Conduct and host factory or onsite system demonstrations and acceptance tests, providing convincing presentations to new and existing customers and partners.
•    Manage the lifecycle of customer orders efficiently, from order placement through the warranty period, ensuring attention to detail.
•    Act as a point of contact to troubleshoot and resolve various process and procedural issues for internal partners and external clients.
•    Finalize, update, and maintain work orders needed for processing by Germany Headquarters.
•    Participate in project kick-off meetings and surveys at customer locations, establishing communication procedures with clients.
•    Develop and maintain an active project list, tracking all critical project steps including allocation of materials, c ommunication with clients and internal stakeholders, and timely follow-up on requests and updates.
•    Curate relationships and source material/equipment/services from third-party suppliers as needed for each project.
•    Continuously provide local management with information on the competition and their market approach.
•    Openly and constructively exchange and communicate with management about the needs of the US market, product development in Germany, and other important mutually beneficial information.
•    Support marketing activities such as exhibitions and congresses to create a positive corporate image.
•    Assist in analyzing client needs and providing advice on how Wipotec-OCS equipment can offer solutions.
•    Identify new business opportunities and propose strategies for development.

•    Support projects until successful handover to the Service organization.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.Eng.), Science (B.Sc.), or a related technical field. Candidates with requisite technical skills and experience demonstrated through work history will also be considered.
•    Interest in the packaging or process industry.
•    3-5 years of experience selling technical solutions, products or services to manufacturing clients (Food, Pharma, Chemicals etc)
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
•    Willingness to travel internationally and hold valid passport.
•    Cultural sophistication to successfully communicate with local management and the Wipotec-OCS team in Germany
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•    Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks efficiently.
•    Highly organized and detail-oriented.
•    Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Excel.
•    Ability to read electrical schematics and general engineering drawings.
•    Self-motivated, collaborative, and a strong team player.
•    High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, maintaining a customer-focused approach.
•    Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to predict challenges and proactively address obstacles.
•    Knowledge of IPC serial and Ethernet communication I/O interface (beneficial but not mandatory).
•    German and/or Spanish language skills are advantageous but not required.
